İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor (football)

İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor is a Turkish sports club based in Istanbul.

The club was founded in 1990 by the then Mayor of Istanbul Nurettin Sözen. The team will play their home games at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium. In the 2006/07 season the team promotion to the Turkcell Süper Lig

History

With the rise in the Turkcell Süper Lig the fledgling football club Istanbul BB saw its greatest success up to that point in the club's history. The first season in the top division of the Turkish professional soccer ball was neat. This enabled the team of Abdullah Avcı to annoy the big three clubs of Istanbul. In the opening game of the 2007/08 season came with Fenerbahce, the reigning champions and city rivals to the Ataturk Olympic Stadium. Istanbul BB defeated Fener 2-0 and provided the first surprise of the season.

In the second half we reached a draw against Fenerbahçe. Beşiktaş Istanbul fared no better against Istanbul BB. The promoted defeated the Black - White 2-1 at home and played Away in the Inonu Stadium undecided. Against Galatasaray won the team at Ali Sami Yen Stadium a draw. In the second half however, was beaten with a clear 0:3 defeat against Gala.

The season ended the team on the 12th Place. The team improved on it steadily. In the 2008 /09 season they finished ninth, one season later sixth. The 2010/11 season they finished in 12th place and the club moved for the first time in the club's history in the Turkish Cup final. On 17 November 2011 the head coach Abdullah Avcı left the club. He was coach of Turkey.

At the end of the 2012/13 season Istanbul BB finished in 16th place and dismounted in the TFF 1 Lig.
