Route

The track is the only marathon course in the world that leads across two continents. The start of all lines is in Üsküdar on the Asian side of Istanbul. Right at the beginning the Bosphorus Bridge is crossed. After an arc through the route passes between Beşiktaş, Dolmabahçe Palace and the Inonu stadium in the district of Beyoğlu and Galata crosses. About the Galata Bridge leads into the Fatih district. The following is a turning point distance along the southwestern shore of the Golden Horn, which leads up to the Eyup Sultan Mosque. On the way back, turn right at the Atatürk Bridge from the Ataturk Bulvarı on which crosses the old town. Then there is another turning point range includes westward along along the Bosphorus, which leads to Zeytinburnu and extends to the Veliefendi Hipodromu. The last few miles first one follows the shores of the Bosphorus to the mouth of the Golden Horn, circled the Topkapi Palace and goes to the goal at the Hippodrome at the feet of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. The altitude amounts to 130 m upstream and 150 m downstream.

The 15- km course is identical to the first two thirds of the marathon route. At the Golden Horn is first run until the Atatürk Bridge and then turned south and went to the mouth of the horn in the Bosphorus, where the route leads into the marathon course. The 8- km run ends at the Inonu Stadium.
