Iveta Melzer

Iveta Melzer ( born 1 February 1983 in Most, Czechoslovakia, as Iveta Benešová ) is a Czech female tennis player.

Career

Iveta Benešová began at the age of seven years with the tennis games. She feels on hard and clay courts well. From 1998, she graduated from ITF tournaments, her first match as a professional player they played in Prague ( qualification).

2004 and 2008 she worked for the Czech Republic at the Olympic Games at the start. From 2002, she served on the Czech Fed Cup team.

Ins 2011 Benešová started with a tournament victory in Sydney. Barbora Zahlavova Strycova together with - they defeated the Czech- Slovenian duo Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik with 4:6, 6:4, [ 10:7 ]. Thus they reached their best-ever position in the double World Ranking with Rank 17. There were other victories in Monterrey, Barcelona and Luxembourg. In April 2012 Benešová Zahlavova - Strycova and won with victory in the tournament in Stuttgart already the tenth joint doubles title.

At the Australian Open Benešová drew 2011 for the first time a single first knockout round of a Grand Slam tournament.

Mixed In 2011 she won at the side of Jurgen Melzer of Austria for the first time a Grand Slam tournament. In the finals of Wimbledon she defeated Jelena Wesnina and Mahesh Bhupathi 6-3, 6-2.

Iveta Benešová married on September 14, 2012 Jurgen Melzer and took his last name. The wedding took place at Schloss Laxenburg.

Then she took a long break tournament. At her first appearance after her return, she was in February 2014 on the side of Petra Cetkovska at the WTA tournament in Acapulco but equal in the endgame, which lost two in the decisive set. In the world rankings it is far fallen by about 16 months.
