Izu Ugonoh

Izuagbe Ugonoh ( born November 2, 1986 in Szczecin, Poland) is a Polish boxer of Nigerian descent, who professionally competes in the cruiserweight division since 2010. He is the reigning European and World champions of the amateurs under the rules of K -1.

Private

Izuagbe Ugonoh, which often occurs by his nickname Izu, came as a Nigerian parents son in the Polish Szczecin ( Stettin) to the world. Originally, this came as part of a bilateral exchange program to study in Poland. However Ugonoh grew up in Gdansk (Danzig ), where he studied at the Jędrzej - Śniadecki sports high school. He said about himself, despite his family roots, he sees himself as a dark-skinned poles and was proud to be representing Poland in sports.

Beginnings as a kickboxer

Ugonoh began his career in Gdansk sports club GKSK Corpus as a kick boxer. Due to its special style, he was compared by the press with the Dutch kickboxer Remy Bonjasky. He himself was based, however, on the style of the Turkish Kickboxers Gokhan Saki.

The first international success came in 2009 during the kickboxing world championship in Villach, Austria. Ugonoh won the gold medal here according to the rules of K-1 in the weight category to 91 kg. A year later, he was finally after a victory while the discharged in Baku, Azerbaijan finale against the Azerbaijanis Zamik Atakishiyev European champions.

Career as a boxer

On 16 October 2010 Ugonoh debuted in the classic boxing at a gala for professional boxers in the Polish Legionowo against the Lithuanians Igoris Papunia he beat in the first round by knockout. His second professional fight, he played on 10 November 2010 at the Polish Nysa ( Neisse ) against the Czechs Pavel Habr, he was able to defeat by a technical knockout.

Also his other fights he has been able to win by knockout. The only exception is the win on points against the German Rashid Raad on April 2, 2011 in Bydgoszcz ( Bromberg ). Ugonoh heard as a professional boxer for Promoting Group 12 Round Knockout Promotions.

Trivial

Between 2005 and 2008, had Ugonoh in several television and film productions, guest appearances, including in a film by the director Jan Jakub Kolski. Furthermore, he entered 2010 in a commercial for a sports drink on. In 2010, he also served as a model for an advertising campaign of the fashion brand Pride & Glory.

Ugonoh one of a large group nigerianischstämmiger persons who are in Poland in public life. These include the footballer Emmanuel Olisadebe, Member of Parliament John Godson, television presenter and actress Olimpia Ajakaiye Aleksandra Szwed.
