Jack McDonald (ice hockey b. 1887)

John Patrick " Jack" McDonald ( born February 28, 1887 in Quebec City, Quebec; † 24 January 1958) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who in his playing days from 1905 to 1922 among others for the Montreal Wanderers, Montreal Canadiens, Quebec Bulldogs and Toronto St. Patricks played in the National Hockey League.

Career

Jack McDonald began his career as a hockey player with the Quebec Bulldogs, for he 1905 to 1912 - from 1910 in the National Hockey Association - was active and with those for the first and only time he won the prestigious Stanley Cup in the 1911/12 season. After a year at the Vancouver Millionaires of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association of the defender returned to the NHA, where he first worked until 1917 ran aground a year for the Toronto Ontario, and later for his former club Quebec Bulldogs. In the newly formed National Hockey League McDonald was in season 1917/18 first in four games for the Montreal Wanderers on the ice, before moving to their city rivals Montreal Canadiens, where he ended his career in 1922. In the meantime, he also played for their league rivals, his former club from Quebec and Toronto St. Patricks.
