Toronto Tecumsehs

The Toronto Shamrocks were a Canadian ice hockey team from Toronto, Ontario. The team played from 1912 to 1915 in the National Hockey Association.

History

The team was founded for the season 1912/13, as a franchise of the National Hockey Association under the name Toronto Tecumseh. In this, as in the following season - this time under the name Toronto Ontario - occupied the last place team in each of the NHA. In the 1914/15 season, the team improved slightly under the name Toronto Shamrocks, but was only the Canadiens de Montréal behind. Before the season 1915/16 Eddie Livingstone, owner of the Shamrocks, the franchise the Toronto Blue Shirts had acquired, but what the other team owners meant too much power, so he should sell the team again. This should, however, prove to be a fatal decision, as Livingstone sold the full squad of the Blueshirts to the new PCHA - Team Seattle Metropolitans, instead, the squad of shamrocks integrated and shamrocks dissolve into his Blueshirts franchise, whereby the NHA a whole team, including several good player lost.
