Jacques Marin
Jacques Raymond Marin ( born September 9, 1919 in Paris, † January 10, 2001 in Cannes) was a French actor.
Life
Marin began at age 18, national supérieur d'art dramatique to study at the Conservatoire in Paris spectacle, where he was taught, among others, André Brunot ( 1879-1973 ). At 23, he made his stage debut in humain Paul Raynal Le Matériel. Since the late 1940s, he starred in many film and television roles. Several times he has worked with directors such as André Cayatte, Robert Vernay, Gilles Grangier, Jean -Paul Le Chanois, Claude Autant - Lara, Henri Verneuil and Jean Delannoy. In 16 films, he played with Jean Gabin.
Among his more than 130 film roles included numerous Hollywood productions that were shot in France and in which he was employed due to its good knowledge of English and his (perceived as typically French ) appearance. One of his most famous roles was Captain Brieux, leader of the airship " Hyperion " in the Disney movie island at the end of the world ( 1975).
Marin's grave is located in the Cimetière du Grand Jas in Cannes.
