Jake Gibb

Jacob " Jake" Gibb ( born February 6, 1976 in Bountiful (Utah ), USA) is an American beach volleyball player.

Career

Jake Gibb played from 2000 to 2009 on the U.S. AVP Tour and since 2005 also internationally on the FIVB World Tour. By Adam Jewell 2004 he won his first AVP tournament. With Steinmetzger he was thirteenth at the Beach Volleyball World Championships 2005 in Berlin. From 2006 to 2012 played with Gibb Sean Rosenthal, with whom he won the FIVB Open tournaments in 2006 in Acapulco and 2008 in Prague. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 Gibb / Rosenthal landed at number five after failed due to the later Bronze Medal winners Ricardo / Emanuel in the quarterfinals. At the World Championships in 2007 succeeded them a fifth place in Gstaad, 2009 in Stavanger, a ninth place in Rome in 2011 and a 17th place. The last joint of 2012 was the most successful of Gibb / Rosenthal: After two Grand Slam wins on the FIVB World Tour in Rome and Gstaad they finished in fifth place at the Olympic Games in London and were eventually FIVB Tour Champion. Since 2013 Jake Gibb plays with Casey Patterson and won the Shanghai Grand Slam. Then they stood in Corrientes and the Continental Cup in Campinas each in the finals and finished fifth in the Hague. At the World Championships in Stare Jabłonki Gibb / Patterson arrived as a group of third parties to the main round, where they did against their compatriots Dalhausser / Rosenthal.

Private

Jacob Gibb is one of the few players in the AVP tour, which did not play college volleyball. While growing up in Bountiful (Utah ), he played golf and basketball and did not begin until the age of 21 along with his twin brother Coleman with the beach volleyball. Jacob is the youngest of 11 siblings. He is married and lives in Costa Mesa ( Southern California ) since 2002.
