Jakub Sklenář (ice hockey)

Jakub Sklenar ( born March 20, 1988 in Znojmo, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player. Since 2004 he plays for HC Slavia Prague in the Czech Extraliga.

Career

Sklenar began his career in the youth teams of HC Orli Znojemští, where he made ​​it to 2004 in the U18 Extraliga team. He then moved to HC Slavia Prague, where he also went through the youth ranks of major league and 2006 was in the squad of the professional association. At 20 he completed his first full season in the top Czech league and took part in games of this HC Slavia in the Champions Hockey League, where he contributed two goals in four games in the league and reached the runner-up. The year before he became Czech champion for the first time.

Internationally

First experiences collected the striker at the U18 Junior World Cup 2006 squads in the Czech junior national team, when he won the Under-18 World Youth Championship with the team. In the U20 Junior Sklenar represented the team at the Junior World Championship 2008, where the selection took fifth in the final rankings.
