Jalen Rose

Jalen Anthony Rose ( born January 30, 1973 in Detroit, Michigan ) is a retired American professional basketball player.

Career

College

After Rose had visited the South Western High School in Detroit, he moved to the University of Michigan. For the Wolverines, he was one of the Fab Five, which consisted of Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson except him and he reached in 1992 and 1993 NCAA Finals.

National Basketball Association

Jalen Rose has been in the NBA Draft selected as the 13th pick in 1994 by the Denver Nuggets, where he completed two seasons. After the first, he was appointed to the NBA All- Rookie Second Team. In 1996 he moved along with Reggie Williams and a future Erstrundenpick in exchange for Mark Jackson, Ricky Pierce and a Erstrundenpick to the Indiana Pacers.

With the Pacers Rose reached the finals of the Eastern Conference, where they were subject, however, the Chicago Bulls in the 1997/98 season. 1999/2000 Rose was the best points scorer of his team and reached the NBA Finals with this, which, however, were lost against the Los Angeles Lakers. In that season he was voted most improved player.

During the following season, Rose moved along with Travis Best and Norman Richardson and a future second-round pick in exchange for Brad Miller, Ron Mercer, Ron Artest and Kevin Ollie to the Chicago Bulls. Rose should lead with his experience the young players the Bulls, but what he did not last did not succeed due to the lack of quality of players.

At the beginning of the 2003/ 04 Rose moved along with Donyell Marshall and Lonny Baxter to the Toronto Raptors, where he however also not particularly successful in sections.

In February 2006, Rose was hired by the New York Knicks, which it passed on Antonio Davis and an undisclosed fee to Toronto. The highlight poor time with the Knicks ended before the start of the 2006/07 season when the team released him from his contract in late October. Early November 2007, Rose signed a contract with the Phoenix Suns.

When the Suns Rose but not got much playing time because he was not suitable enough for the designed for speed game of the team and also had to contend with knee problems. After the 2007 season, he finished his career.
