Jamal Abdul Karim al-Dabban

Jamaluddin Abd al- Karim al- Dabban (Arabic: جمال الدين عبد الكريم الدبان, DMG Ǧamāl ad - Dīn ʿ Abdu 'l- Karīm ad Dabbān; * around 1939, † 17 June 2007) was a Sunni cleric.

Jamaluddin Abd al- Karim al- Dabban was from July 2004 to his death in the head of the Sunni religious community in Iraq. He was regarded as a moderate Muslim.

On 24 June 2006 he was arrested along with his two sons by U.S. occupation soldiers as a potential terrorist, but was released shortly after protests by the Iraqi people in Tikrit.

Ad - Dabban died of a heart attack.
