James Ponsoldt

Adam James Ponsoldt (born 1978 in Athens, Georgia ) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer and actor.

Life and career

Ponsoldt was born in 1978 as the son of James F. Ponsoldt and his wife Susan E. Teason. His grandfather was the artist William Teason. Since September 2010 he is married to Megan Hollaway.

He studied at Yale University, where he attained a Bachelor and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University.

After several short films he made in 2006 with Off the Black his first feature film with actors such as Nick Nolte, Trevor Morgan and Rosemarie DeWitt. His second feature film Smashed devoted to the subject of alcoholism. The main roles were Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Aaron Paul.
