Jamul is a city in San Diego County in the U.S. state of California. Covering an area of nearly 44 square kilometers, nearly 6200 people live.
Geography
Jamal is in the south of the State of California in the southwestern United States, about 15 miles from the southern border with Mexico and 23 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean to the west away. About seven kilometers east extends the 1900 square kilometer Cleveland National Forest.
Nearby cities include Chula Vista (3 km south), El Cajon (5 km north ), La Mesa (7 km north-west ) and National City (13 km southwest). Nearest large city with over 1.3 million inhabitants located about ten kilometers west of San Diego.
History
Jamal was originally located on Mexican soil, but was in 1831 by Mexican Governor Manuel Victoria the last governor of California, Pio Pico granted. 1837 where he built ranch was attacked by the Diegueño Indians, with several defenders were killed and two women were abducted.
