Janne Wirman

Janne Viljami " Warman " Wirman ( born April 26, 1979) is a Finnish musician and keyboardist of the metal bands Children of Bodom and Warmen.

Career

Born in Espoo, Finland, Janne Wirman began at the age of five years to play the piano. His first musical influences were jazz, later he focused on Heavy Metal. At age 16, he completed a degree from the Helsinki Pop & Jazz Conservatory and subsequently became the keyboard player of the metal band Children of Bodom. He replaced Jani Pirisjoki, who was fired from the band. Wirmans introduction to the band is at the same time the beginning of the professional career of Children of Bodom dar.

In 2000 founded his solo project Wirman Janne Warmen. He is also heard on the band's debut album Master Plan, as well as on all three solo albums by Timo Kotipelto.

Wirman owns his own studio, which he named after the title of the second warm - CD Beyond Abilities. There, among other things keyboardtracks for Kotipelto, Ensiferum, Sinergy and recorded.

To endorsement contracts Janne Wirman has a tense relationship. After both Roland and Korg have towards him uncooperative, Wirman glued the logos of his instruments with tape. He also mentioned in the second album by Warmen "No Roland or Korg products were used".

Style

Wirmans keyboard playing is considered style icon for the Melodic Death Metal. Its fast and virtuosic solos and duels (especially with guitarist Alexi Laiho ) are unique in the metal scene. Janne Wirman is strongly influenced by Stratovarius keyboardist Jens Johansson. He took over his way of playing the keyboard on an angled forward tripod. In addition Wirman used in some pieces synthesizer patches that have been programmed by Jens Johannson.

Equipment

Most Wirman uses for live performances Korg X5D, but only as a midi controller for a varying set of racks / modules. His stylistically influential lead sound is created by Jens Johansson emulation patch for the Korg Polysix, originally created on the JV1080.
