Jens Johansson

Jens Johansson ( born November 2, 1963 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish pianist in the power metal field and was one of the first pianists who have used the shredding of the guitar in keyboard. He is also known for his use of an inclined stand. He has coined several well-known keyboardist, including Janne Wirman Children Of Bodom, which uses a similar tripod and Johansson sounds used in some pieces.

Life

Johansson is the son of jazz pianist Jan Johansson and brother of Anders Johansson, who plays drums in Hammerfall. In 1982, he played in a classic jazz band called Slem, but started later in the metal band Silver Mountain, where his brother also played. In 1983 he moved to California and came as a keyboardist in the Yngwie Malmsteen band. Johansson played with Yngwie various appearances and worked until 1989 in many of his albums, after which he played until 1990 with the band Dio, he began with his brother working with Jonas Hellborg that consumed in the occupation of various albums.

In 1993, Anders and Jens Johansson founded in passing their own blues - metal band, The Johansson Brothers, until they recorded in 1996 in a different formation Album Sonic winter with Yngwie as a guest musician on guitar. His favorite synthesizer Korg Polysix are, the Yamaha DX7, the matrix series from Oberheim and Roland JV- 1080th Johansson is a big computer fan and programmed his own keyboards with their own sounds. The programmed by him patches have evolved metal standard for keyboard solos. Both Janne Wirman of Children of Bodom and Henrik Klingenberg of Sonata Arctica playing almost all solos with the classic original " Jens patch ".
