Jean Alavoine

Jean Alavoine ( born April 1, 1888 in Roubaix, † July 18, 1943 in Argenteuil ) was a French cyclist. From 1909 to 1925 he played the race and took it a total of 29 victories.

Achievements

At the Tour de France 1919, he alone could decide five of the 15 stages in itself, in the overall classification, he finished second, as in the years 1922 and 1923. Overall Alavoine won in his 11 participations in the Tour de France 17 stage wins and came to include three stage wins in the Giro d' Italia and two French road championships in 1909 and 1920.
