Jean Vallée

Jean Vallée (actually Paul Goeders; born October 2, 1941 in Verviers, Wallonia, † March 12, 2014 in Clermont -sur- Berwinne ) was a Belgian singer-songwriter, who represented Belgium in 1970 and 1978, the Euro Vision Song Contest.

Biography

Goeders was born during the Second World War in Verviers as one of six siblings. In 1966 he received the Press Prize at the Coupe d' Europe du tour de chant of Knokke. In 1967 he took part in the festival in Belgium do Rio BR. In 1969, he released his first album for Philips Records. In the same year he accompanied Juliette Greco on a tour of France.

In 1970 Vallée on the Belgian preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest, which was organized by the Belgian TV station RTB under the title Chanson Euro '70. The singer won with the self-penned title Viens l' oublier after successful semi-finals the preselection against the other remaining three participants at a considerable distance. When Euro Vision Song Contest 1970 in Amsterdam, he received five points and reached together with the Italian representative Gianni Morandi and the Monegasque representative Dominique Dussault as the eighth of twelve participants. After another studio album in 1989 a CD with Vallées greatest hits was released in 1994. He was beaten by King Albert II as Knight of the " Ordre de la Couronne " 1999. In 2001 he released his last album Airs de vie. Until recently, he had regular live performances.
