Jeanette Ottesen

Jeanette Ottesen Gray ( born December 30, 1987 in Kongens Lyngby ) is a Danish swimmer. She has specialized in the disciplines freestyle and butterfly and is especially successful on the short track.

Life

Your swimming career began Jeanette Ottesen (married Ottesen Gray) at the age of twelve years in Lyngby Svømmeklub and at age 13, she participated in her first international competition - the European Youth Olympic Festival 2001 in Murcia - part. In the European Swimming Championships in Madrid in 2004 she won the 50m butterfly and fourth place at the next host in 2006 in Budapest, she reached in the same discipline, only the ninth- best time. The greatest success of her career was Ottesen celebrate on July 29, 2011, when she a gold medal in the prestigious 100m freestyle won at the World Swimming Championships in Shanghai - together with the simultaneous Belarusian Aljaxandra Herassimenja. After the two victories of their countrymen wife Lotte Friis this was only the third Danish world champion in swimming. In December the same year it secured at the European Short Course Championships in Szczecin, Poland a total of six of 14 Danish medals. Based on these achievements, she was named Swimmer of the Year in Denmark 2011 and sportswoman of the year 2011.

Both in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, she represented her home country in addition at the Summer Olympics. Their best finish was doing a fifth place in the final of the 100m freestyle at the National Aquatics Center.
