Jebel Shams

The Jabal Shams (Arabic: جبل شمس, DMG Ǧabal Sams, Sonnenberg ') is - even before the Jabal Kawr - the highest mountain in Oman Jabal al - Akhdar in the mountains and is located about 240 km from Muscat. It reaches a height of about 2,970 m (exact figures are not available ).

At the summit, a narrow dirt road, which is however not publicly drive, because it performs a restricted military zone. Directly on top of the mountain there is a radar station.
