Jennifer Koh

Jennifer Koh ( born October 8, 1976 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois) is an American violinist with Korean parents.

Jennifer Koh's parents, the father businessman, her mother a librarian were in 1960 emigrated from Korea to the United States. She earned a bachelor's degree in English Literature at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and a diploma from the connected Oberlin Conservatory. They also included the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia from 1994 and reached second place at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow together with Anastasia Saweljewna Tschebotarewa, with a first prize was not awarded. In the same year she won a scholarship from the Concert Artists Guild.

Jennifer Koh occurred with orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra, and is an advocate of music education for Children.

They frequently take on new music as well as albums, the classic with less popular contemporary pieces combine (eg Franz Schubert with Arnold Schoenberg ).

Currently, she plays the General DuPont Stradivari from 1727 from the estate of Arthur Grumiaux.

She is married to the pianist Benjamin Hochman, which sometimes occurs together with her. The two were soloists at the premiere of the Double Concerto for Violin, Piano and Orchestra Opus 40 by Lera Auerbach with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Andrew Constantine, on 13 February 2010.

Jennifer Koh currently resides in New York.
