Jeremy Camp

Jeremy Thomas Camp ( born January 12, 1978 in Lafayette, Indiana) is an American Christian songwriter.

Life

Jeremy Camps parents Tom and Terry Owen Camp is pastor at the Harvest Church in his hometown. After graduating from the High School of Lafayette Camp went to Southern California on a Bible school. There, his musical talent was discovered and he began to lead the praise work at his college. There, he met Melissa, his future wife.

In 2000, he took on the indie album Burden Me, the only is difficult to obtain today. Some time later, Melissa was diagnosed with cancer. Jeremy held her hand in the hospital. He was sure that she would beat cancer. Five months later, after recovering from chemotherapy, he married her. However, during the honeymoon Melissa got abdominal pain and was told that she would only live for a few months. On 5 February 2001 she died.

Jeremy still clung to God and processed his pain especially with the song Walk by Faith and I Still Believe on his debut album Stay, which was released in 2002. With the album he made in the USA for the first time a sensation. The disc was nationally known - not least because many people moved by the story of the musician and were also encouraged. In the following years he went along with Rebecca St. James and the Newsboys on the tour.

In 2004 he was awarded the Dove Award for best singer and best newcomer. On tour, he met his second wife Adrienne Lies Ching ( ex- lead singer of "The Benjamin Gate" ), whom he still married in the same year. Meanwhile, the couple has two daughters ( Isabella and Arianne Mae ). In February 2004, Jeremy Camp Carried Me brought out a worship album. However, the songs, which are not all by himself, have been completely reworked and sometimes quite rocky. Towards the end of the year came out with Restored his third CD. It describes how much he suffered, but had found through faith regain new strength.

To the film " Narnia " he steered the 2005 song Open Up Your Eyes at. In early 2006, he published his first Unplugged CD containing songs from the last album. His music is based on Creed, Matchbox Twenty and Dave Matthews with very personal lyrics. Other well-known songs by Jeremy Camp Take You Back are and This Man.
