Jeroen Krabbé

Jeroen Krabbé ( born December 5, 1944 in Amsterdam, Netherlands) is a Dutch actor and film director.

Life

Krabbé was born into a family of artists, known also by his brother Tim Krabbé. His father and grandfather were painters and Jeroen also dabbled in his youth as a painter and reported on the Kunstnijverheidsschool in Amsterdam, now the Rietveld Academy, where. He did not believe in his talent as a painter and then attended acting school Toneelschool Amsterdam, which he successfully left at the age of 20 years.

Krabbé was first in the films Paul Verhoeven's popular in the Netherlands, for example, in The Soldier of Orange (1977, with Rutger Hauer ) and The Fourth Man (1983, starring Renée Soutendijk ). He also played in 1972 a smaller role in a crime scene ( Kressin and the wife of the painter ).

He also worked as a director and producer, for example, in The Discovery of Heaven.

In addition to acting and directing, he enters artistically as a painter and co-authored a cookbook in appearance. In November 2004 he published the book plates with an overview of his paintings. Krabbé's paintings, especially landscapes were exhibited, among others, in 2008 at the Museum De Fundatie in Zwolle. Krabbé has Dalfsen, near Zwolle, a house, where he often retreats to devote himself in peace painting. Also a part of his apartment in Amsterdam is set up as a painter 's studio. A created image of Krabbé (Dutch Landscape from 1993) is decorated with a Dutch stamp.

He has a place in Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in Amsterdam.

Krabbé is the father of three sons. His eldest son, Martijn Krabbé (26 March 1968), is known as a presenter of television and radio programs in the Netherlands.
