Jesús María Pereda

Jesús María Pereda Ruiz de Temiño ( born June 15, 1938 in Medina de Pomar, Burgos, † 27 September 2011 in Barcelona), also known as Chus Pereda or Txus Pereda was a Spanish football player and coach.

Career

Pereda first professional stop was SD Indautxu, a club from the Basque city of Bilbao. There he from 1956 until 1958. Yet 20 years old, the midfielder moved early in 1958 to Real Madrid, where he won the same European Champions Cup in 1957/58. After only two appearances in the league and a Copa del Generalísimo - finals, he joined the season 1958/59 to Real Valladolid. With the club he became a master of the Spanish second division. Between 1959 and 1961 he was active for Sevilla FC, thereafter, he joined FC Barcelona. In Barca he played until 1969 on the central playmaker position and won with the team once each La Liga, the Fairs Cup and two Copa del Generalísimo. His career was then allowed to fade away with CE Sabadell and RCD Mallorca.

For the Spanish national team, he made ​​his debut on May 15, 1960, a 3-0 win over England.
