Jičíněves

Jičíněves ( German Jičínowes ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south of Jičín and belongs to Okres Jičín.

History

Jičíněves was first mentioned in 1360 and was then in the possession of the Divis of Jičíněves. Before 1540 it was part of the under-age William Otmar von Holohlav. Meanwhile guardian sold it to Barbara of Boskowitz, who was married to Georg von Waldstein. Under Johann the Younger of Wallenstein, a fort was built. Until the Thirty Years War Jičíněves was an independent dominion. After the transition to Albrecht von Wallenstein, it was incorporated into his reign Welisch. After the assassination of Wallenstein in 1634 Heinrich acquired by Schlick († 1650), the rule Welisch. His son, Franz Ernst sold in 1670 to Charles Jičíněves Zumsand Sandberg. Due to a Vorkaufsrechtes acquired Franz Josef von Schlick 1686 Jičíněves back and a baroque palace built in 1715-1717, designed by Jean Baptiste Mathey.
