Jim Carter Kleinsasser ( born January 31, 1977 in Carrington, North Dakota) is an American football player at the position of the tight end and the full backs. He played his entire career with the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League. After the 2011 season, he announced his resignation.

Career

College career

Kleinsasser attended the University of North Dakota and played both in their football, as well as in their basketball team. During his college years he was awarded several awards in the field of football, such as those to the Circle of Champions North Dakota Player of the Year.

NFL Career

With the NFL Draft in 1999, he came to the Minnesota Vikings. Initially used only as a tight end, he was initially retrained more and more to fullback. Kleinsasser completed already in its first year, 13 of 16 games, seven of them as a starter.

He has developed over the years into a fixed size at the Vikings. In 2002, he caught his first touchdown after a 1- yard pass. His athletic seen successful year followed in 2003. Kleinsasser came four touchdowns, caught 46 passes and 401 yard space gain. In 2004, he dropped out due to an injury the entire season.

Since 2005, Jim Kleinsasser attended every game, a total he reached 1,688 yards space gain. In twelve seasons he scored six touchdowns, his last in 2007, he scored against the Washington Redskins.
