Jim Sturgess

Jim Sturgess ( born May 16, 1978 in London, England, United Kingdom; native James Anthony Sturgess ) is an English actor and musician.

Life and work

Sturgess was raised in Farnham, Surrey and went from 1993 to 1995 at London's National Youth Music Theatre on. His first film role he played alongside Albert Finney, Greta Scacchi, Matthew Modine and Julian Sands in the British film drama The Browning Version by Mike Figgis from the year 1994. 1997 he joined the School of Media, Music and Performance, University of Salford from. In addition to his acting career, Jim Sturgess is also active as a songwriter and musician. So he wrote and sang two songs for his role in Crossing Over and three songs for the film Heartless. Currently he is working on a band called Tragic Toys, in collaboration with his partner. His music genre he describes as an alternative, ambient and electro.

Jim Sturgess is in a relationship with Mickey O'Brien, the keyboard player of the band La Roux for seven years.
