Jinotega Department

Jinotega is a department in the north of Nicaragua, with around 300,000 inhabitants.

In the north of Jinotega bordering Honduras. The boundary is formed by the river Rio Coco. This capital is the city of Jinotega departments.

The department is made up of eight municipios ( municipalities ):

  • El Cuá - Bocay
  • Jinotega
  • La Concordia
  • San Rafael del Norte
  • San Sebastian de Yali
  • Santa María de Pantasma
  • Wiwilí
  • San José de Bocay
