Jiří Bicek

Jiří Bicek ( born December 3, 1978 in Košice, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Kladno in the Czech Extraliga since 2010.

Career

Jiří Bicek began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of the TJ VSZ Kosice, for the first team, he was active in the Slovak Extraliga 1995-1997. During this time he won with the team in the 1995/96 season for the first time, the Slovak Championship and the following year was runner-up. He was then in the fifth round as the 131st overall player selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1997 by the New Jersey Devils, for whom he made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2000/ 01 season. Previously, the attacker had already intended for a farm team of the American Hockey League, the Albany River Rats played three years. With the New Jersey Devils of the links Sagittarius won in the 2002/03 season was the first Slovak at all the prestigious Stanley Cup after he had prevailed with his team in the final against the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

On 17 September 2004 as a free agent Bicek was obliged by his former club HC Košice, which he left at the end of the season to play for Leksand IF in the Swedish Elitserien. After the winger started the season 2006/ 07 again in Košice, he finished it in Sweden Brynäs IF. In the summer of 2007, the Slovak national team received a contract with KalPa Kuopio of the Finnish SM- liiga out. The following season he joined their league rivals JYP Jyväskylä, the Finnish Champion was first at the end of the season. He previously wrote in the course of the season, however, the EHC Biel from Swiss National League A, for whom he played until season's end. For the 2009/10 season he joined the Elitserien to Södertälje SK. For the 2010/11 season he signed a trial contract with the newly formed Slovak KHL HC Lev Poprad - participants. As this did not take up the game operation Bicek was initially without a club. After he had completed two sluices in the first league, the second Slovak league, for the HC 07 Prešov, he moved to HC Kladno of the Czech Extraliga, where he plays since then.

Internationally

For Slovakia Bicek took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 1996 and 1997. In addition, he was in the squad of Slovakia at the World Championships in 1997 and 2009.
