Joanna Senyszyn

Joanna Senyszyn ( born 1 February 1949 in Gdynia ) is a Polish politician, Professor of Economics, Member of the Sejm for the electoral alliance Left and Democrats ( Lewica Demokraci i ) in the IV, V and VI. Election period. It is considered a severe critic of Catholicism.

Scientific activity

Joanna Senyszyn graduated in economics from the University of Gdansk. She was in the years 1994 to 1995, the first rector of the Academy of Management and Economics in Gdynia. From 1996 to 2002 she was Dean of the Faculty of Management at the University of Gdansk. She currently holds the Chair of market studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Gdansk. She is the author of four books and over 150 publications in the field of marketing, standard of living and consumption. She has supervised 500 master's theses and 5 PhD theses.

She leads a column in the anticlerical weekly " Fakty i Mity ( Myths and Facts ) " under the title " Katedra Profesor Joanny S. ( Chair of Professor Joanna S. ) ". In 2006 she received the " lustro " Prize of the audience of the show " Szkło kontaktowe ( contact lens )" in the TV station TVN24.

Political activity

Since the 1970s, it was up to the self-dissolution in the Polska Zjednoczona partia Robotnicza ( Polish United Workers' Party - PZPR ) active. In 1980, she joined the Solidarity and was a member until 1995. 2001 she was elected on the list of the SLD -UP in the Sejm. In 2004, she ran unsuccessfully for the European Parliament. Since 2005 she has been deputy chairman of the SLD. In 2005 she was re-elected to the Sejm. The Sejmwahlen of 2007, she was the third time deputies. She got it in her constituency Gdynia Slupsk 25 193 votes. In the 5th and 6th term of the Sejm, she was deputy chairman of the Polish- Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Group. In addition, she was a member of the Sejm Commission for the connection with the foreign Polonia.

In the European elections 2009, she was elected to the European Parliament. This ended on 10 June 2009 for membership of the Sejm.

She is on the board of the European Parliament Platform for Secularism in Politics ( EPPSP ).

Social activity

Joanna Senyszyn often have different initiator of actions, tolerance and equality to the destination.

She is known for her commitment to women's rights and has initiated together with other politicians the legislative project for self-determined parenting. For 30 years she has been a member of the Polish Animal Welfare Society.
