Jodi-Ann Robinson

Jodi -Ann Robinson ( born April 17, 1989 in Saint Ann 's Bay, Jamaica ) is a Canadian soccer player. They played in the 2013 season with the Western New York Flash and the Canadian national team striker.

Career

Robinson began playing football at the Robert Cecil Palmer Secondary School in Richmond, but also ran basketball, volleyball and athletics. Since 2005 she plays for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the W- League, which they won in 2006.

Robinson went through the Canadian youth national teams and played a total of 32 times for the U-19/20-Mannschaften. With the U-19 team won the CONCACAF U -20 Women's Championship in 2004 and took part in the U-19 World Cup Women 2004. In 2006 she took at the CONCACAF U -20 Women's Championship 2006 silver medal and qualified for the U-20 World Cup Women 2006, but resigned in Canada in the preliminary round. In 2008 she won with Canada the CONCACAF U -20 Women's Championship 2008.

Her first senior international she made on April 21, 2005 - shortly after her 16th birthday - at 1:3 against Germany, but continued playing for the youth teams. With the Canadian national soccer team in which they recorded so far ( June 2011) 50 inserts, she was disqualified at the World Cup 2007 third in the first round. She was the youngest player on the Canadian squad. At the 2008 Summer Olympics she came with her team to the quarter- finals. There they lost in extra time 2-1 to eventual tournament winner United States.

In 2010 she won the Cyprus Cup with Canada, but was not used at the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup in 2010. In 2011 she was able to repeat winning the Cyprus Cup and was appointed to the Canadian squad for the World Cup. But she came only to a six minutes use in the last group match against Nigeria.

In the 2013 season she played in the newly established National Women 's Soccer League, the highest American professional league in women's football, for Western New York Flash.
