Joseph Patrick Mauer ( born April 19, 1983 in Saint Paul, Minnesota) is an American baseball player who plays as a catcher for the Minnesota Twins in Major League Baseball.

Since the beginning of his professional career in the MLB, he plays for the Twins, of which he was drafted in the first place in 2004.

Wall is the first catcher for 63 years, led the MLB (2006) in the statistics Batting AVG ( batting average ). He reached 181 hits in 521 at bats - that's a cut of 0.347. In 2009 he was elected MVP of the American League.
