The Joensuu Airport is an important airport for civil purposes in the eastern part of Finland. It is located about eleven miles northwest of the city of Joensuu in the municipal area of the city Liperi. The airlines Finnair and Flybe Nordic fly from Joensuu mainly at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport.
On working days up to 4-5 flights, weekends are 3-4 flights per day.

The airport originally had two landing and runways, rail 17/35 but was converted into a taxiway.
