Jógvan Poulsen

Jógvan Poulsen or Pálsson was 1654-55 and 1662-77 Løgmaður of the Faroe Islands.

Jógvan Poulsen was married to the daughter of Jógvan Justinusson. He was a farmer in Oyri. In 1654 he was elected by the Løgting as its chairman, but the Danish king Frederick III. had something about it and obtained in 1655 the establishment of the Danes Balzer Jacobsen. This was the beginning of the fork time, the darkest chapter in the history of the Faroe Islands.

His son Jákup Jógvansson was also Løgmaður.
