Johann Rudolph Ahle

Johann Rudolph ( Rudolf ) awl ( born December 24, 1625 Mühlhausen / Thuringia, † July 9, 1673 ) was a German composer, organist, poet and Protestant church musician.

Life

Awl came from a merchant family. His school, he graduated in Mühlhausen and Göttingen and eventually studied at the Faculty of Philosophy in Erfurt. There, he served from 1646 as cantor at St. Andrew's Church. After his return to Mulhouse in 1649, he worked as a freelance musician until he was in 1654 appointed organist at the main church Divi Blasii. He served from 1655 as a member of the city council numerous municipal offices and was elected to his death year as mayor of the free imperial city. After his return to Mulhouse 1649 awl married in 1650 Anna Maria Wölfer. Works
