Johann Wilhelm, Duke of Saxe-Jena

Johann Wilhelm ( born March 28, 1675 Jena, † November 4, 1690 ibid ) was Duke of Saxe- Jena.

Johann Wilhelm was born the son of the Duke Bernard of Saxe- Jena and his wife Maria de la TREMOUILLE. On the death of his father on May 3, 1678 the young Duke was just three years old. For him, therefore, first his uncle Johann Ernst of Saxe -Weimar led in accordance with the testamentary instructions of his father as guardian, the government, as this 1683 died took over Johann Georg I of Saxe- Eisenach this office, as this in 1686, also died, the office fell to William Ernst of Saxe- Weimar.

Johann Wilhelm died before reaching adulthood, and therefore has himself never reigned. With his death the line of the Dukes of Saxe- Jena was extinct, so the duchy reverted to Saxe-Weimar and Saxe- Eisenach.
