John Doubleday
John Doubleday ( born 1947 in Langford at Maldon, Essex ) is a British painter and sculptor.
Life
John Doubleday studied sculpture at Goldsmiths College. Since his first solo exhibition at Waterhouse and Dodd Gallery, London in 1968, he is a very busy artist. His serene sculptures modern contemporaries have been partially reflected in several casts on some public places. His most original work, a smoking Sherlock Holmes, was also set up at the Reichenbach Falls. Here Sherlock Holmes was able to defeat Professor Moriarty finally the legend, the genius criminal.
