John L. Allen, Jr.

John L. Allen, Jr. (born 1965 ) is an American journalist of CNN and NPR, specializing in Roman Catholic Church and the Vatican.

Biography

Allen grew up in the U.S. state of Kansas in the town of Hays ( Kansas). Allen went to school until 1983 in the Thomas More Prep - Marian- school, which is run by the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin.

Anschliedssend he studied at the Fort Hays State University and completed the degree of Master degree in Religious Studies at the University of Kansas. Allen taught journalism and worked in the student newspaper, The Knight of the Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. Also for the magazine National Catholic Reporter ( NCR) Allen worked.

While the reports on the death of John Paul II Allen appeared regularly in the news channel CNN and acts there today as a specialist and analyst for the issues Vatican. Alongside Allen holds lectures on the same topic.

Together with his wife Shannon John Allen lives in Rome.
