John Lanchester

John Lanchester ( born February 25, 1962 in Hamburg ) is a British writer, who published in 1996 for his debut novel The Debt to Pleasure with numerous literary prizes including the Hawthornden Prize and the Whitbread Book Award was awarded for the best debut novel. Life

Lanchester grew up in the Far East and worked as an editor at the publishing house Penguin Books after completing his education in England, before he became a member of the editorial board of the London Review of Books.
