Jonathan de Guzmán

Jonathan Alexander de Guzmán ( born September 12, 1987 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Dutch footballer Jamaican - Filipino descent. He is the younger brother of Julian de Guzman.

Career

At the age of 12 he left his home in Canada to The Netherlands, where he played from then on for the youth of Feyenoord Rotterdam. His debut in the A-Team, he gave in 2005 on his eighteenth birthday in the league match against SC Heerenveen. His first league goal he scored on 30 September 2005 in the match against Willem II Tilburg.

For a long time it was unclear for which national team to de Guzmán would decide. After he received Dutch citizenship in February 2008, he decided to play for the Netherlands, where he participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics. After eleven years at Feyenoord, he joined in July 2010, trained by Michael Laudrup Real Mallorca.

End of August 2011 he moved to FC Villarreal.Am February 6, 2013, he debuted in the World Cup qualifier against Italy in the " Oranje ".
