José López Lira

Jose Lopez Lira ( * 1892 in Salamanca / Guanajuato, † 1965) was a Mexican lawyer and PRI politicians, including briefly Rector of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México ( UNAM).

López studied law at the Colegio del Estado de Guanajuato and was a participant in the Mexican Revolution. Later he held several political offices. He was Secretary of Government of the Federal States of Guanajuato and Tlaxcala, Unterbarrister the State Government, Magistrate at the Court of Federal district and territories, federal judge on Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación, Secretary General and from August 2 to September 4, 1929 then Rector of the UNAM, and last Secretario de Bienes Nacionales e Inspectorate Administrativa in government Ruiz Cortines 1952 to 1958.
