José Oscar Herrera

José Oscar Herrera Corominas ( born June 17, 1965 in Tala ) is a former Uruguayan football player.

Association

The inserted as a defensive player, 1.81 meters wide Herrera played at club level from 1984 to 1989 for Peñarol, from their youth teams he emerged and quickly secured a regular place. In the years 1985 and 1986 he was with the Aurinegros each Uruguayan champion. His most significant title at club level he then won the Copa Libertadores 1987. Late in his career, he returned back again in 1998 for one season for Club Atlético Peñarol. Also for 2003, a further station is mentioned in the Aurinegros.

National

Herrera was a member of the Uruguayan national football team. He made his debut in Celeste on August 7, 1988 as part of the Copa de Quesada G.Jimenez 0-0 draw with Colombia's national team. His 57th and final international game, he completed on 30 April 1997, when he ran aground in the World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay. During his international career he scored four goals. Herrera's career highlight in the national team was in addition to participating in the Football World Cup 1990, when he came in the three group matches used in each case, the income of the Copa América 1995, where he played all games with Uruguayan participation.
