José Sebastião de Almeida Neto

José Sebastião Neto Cardinal O.F.M.Disc. ( Born February 8, 1841 in Fargo, Portugal, † December 7, 1920 in Villarino, Seville, Spain) was the twelfth Patriarch of Lisbon.

Life

José Sebastião Neto received by his theological and philosophical studies at the Seminary of the Diocese of Faro on September 20, 1862, ordained a subdeacon and deacon on 21 May 1864. On April 1, 1865 he was ordained priest. In 1875, he joined the Order of Franciscan Discalceaten; Here he took the name of Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
