Josef Král

Josef Král ( born June 15, 1990 in Dvur Kralove nad Labem ) is a Czech racing driver. He started from 2010 to 2012 in the GP2 series.

Career

Král began his motorsport career in karting in 1998, which he held until 2004. 2005 Král made ​​in the Czech Formula 1400, in which he finished third overall, first experience in Formula racing. In 2006 he moved to the German Formula BMW, finishing in twelfth place overall. 2007 Král went to the British Formula BMW for Raikkonen Robertson Racing, the team of the Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen at the start. With six victories, he was behind Marcus Ericsson vice champion of the British Formula BMW. He also took part in two races in the German Formula BMW. He also took both 2006 and 2007 part of the Formula BMW World Final. He crossed in two years as the finish line second and was disqualified.

After Král was started in the winter with two races of the A1GP season 2007/2008 for the Czech team, he played his first season in 2008 in the International Formula Master. Starting for the team JVA he was with a win sixth in the overall standings. 2009 remained Král in the international Formula Master and joined the Italian Team JD Motorsport. With two victories, he was behind his teammate Sergei Afanasyev, who won the runner-up title, third in the overall standings.

In the fall of Král was obliged Supernova Racing for the 2009/2010 season of the GP2 Asia Series. With a third place in the second race he started the season well. Since then he has produced no other points, he finished the season in eleventh place overall. 2010 Král went as team-mate Marcus Ericsson in the GP2 Series for the Super Nova Racing at the start. During the sprint race in Valencia had Král after a serious accident investigations to the hospital. He collided with Rodolfo González and crashed into the barriers. After he was taken to a hospital in Czech Prague by plane, with him two vertebral fractures were diagnosed. Because of his injury Král after missing five races weekends. At the season finale, he returned to his cockpit and scored his first points in GP2 series. At the end of the season, he finished 24th overall. He then completed his first Formula 1 test driving for HRT.

2011 Král went for Arden International in both the GP2 Asia, as well as in the GP2 series at the start. In the GP2 Asia Series he was honored with a second place as best result tenth in the championship. In the GP2 Series, he finished with a second place as best result 15th overall. His teammate Jolyon Palmer remained without points in the season. After the season Král took part in the GP2 Final in 2011 and was moved Král 16, 2012 in the GP2 Series for Barwa Addax Team, the champion team of the preseason. After he had remained at the first race weekend with no points, he was replaced for the second race weekend by Dani Clos. The fourth event, he was returned to the cockpit.
