Joseph Ritter von Fiihrich ( born February 9, 1800 Kratzau in Bohemia, † March 13 1876 in Vienna ), called the theologian with the pins, was an Austrian painter of religious subjects ( Narzarener ) and history painter.

Life

Fiihrich was the son of the painter Wenzel Fiihrich, from which he also received his first art lessons. He had eleven brothers and sisters, including the painter Maria Antonia Fiihrich. Funded by the owner of the domain Kratzau, the patron Count Christian Christoph Clam-Gallas, it was Fiihrich possible to visit the Academy of Fine Arts Prague.
