Juha Alén

Juha Alén ( born October 25, 1981 in Tampere ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player who was active throughout his career, among other things at Ilves Tampere of the SM - liiga in and the Dragons de Rouen in France's Ligue Magnus. With the Dragons, he has twice been French champion and won the 2012 IIHF Continental Cup.

Career

Juha Alén began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of KooVee in which he was active until 2000. He then spent a year at the U20 Juniors of city neighbors Ilves Tampere. For the 2001/02 season the defender went to North America, where he first played a year for the Soo Indians of the North American Hockey League. He then began studying at Northern Michigan University, for their hockey team he played in parallel in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In 2003 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected in the third round than a total of 90 players from the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, after he broke off his studies and the organization of the Mighty Ducks joined. For their farm team Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, he ran in the American Hockey League in the season 2003/ 04.

In the summer of 2004 Alén returned to his former club Ilves Tampere, for its first team he two and a half years in the SM- liiga, the top Finnish league, played before he finished the season 2006/ 07 at the Espoo Blues. In the 2007 /08 season he scored two goals and an assist for their league rivals Lukko Rauma in 52 games. For the following season he joined the Mora IK of the HockeyAllsvenskan, the Swedish second division, at. For the team he prepared in 45 games against eight goals. In the 2009/10 season the Finn for Alba Volán Székesfehérvár approached from the Austrian Hockey League. At the end of the season he won with the team is also the Hungarian Champion title. For the season 2010/11 he was taken by the Dragons de Rouen from the French Ligue Magnus under contract. With the team he immediately won the double of league title and Coupe de France. In the season 2011/12 he won with the team at the European level the IIHF Continental Cup.
