Julius Arnold

Julius Arnold ( born August 19, 1835 in Zurich, † February 2nd 1915 in Heidelberg ) was a German pathologist.

Life

The son of Frederick Arnold studied medicine in Prague, Vienna, Berlin and Heidelberg. There he received his doctorate in 1860 with the work of the conjunctiva of the cornea and the old man bow and habilitated in 1863. Beginning in 1866, was Julius Arnold Associate Professor of Pathological Anatomy at the Ruprecht -Karls- University. From 1870 until his retirement in 1907 he was full professor at the Ruprecht -Karls- University and Director of the Institute of Pathology of the University.

Specialist sectors of Julius Arnold were the pathology of gunshot wounds, the fine structure of the cell and the evolution of the eye.

Julius Arnold was laid to rest on Mount Cemetery (Heidelberg ) in the family tomb in his father, the anatomist and physiologist Friedrich Arnold rests. The grave complex is located in the department of F.
