Jungle Hunt

Jungle Hunt is an arcade and computer game that was first developed in 1982 as Jungle King by Taito. It was the first horizontal-scrolling action game with Jump ' n ' run and combat units, which also scrolled to the left. See also Pitfall! and Super Mario.

Game Description

The player controls a jungle hero Tarzan or who must rescue a girl from the hands of cannibals. There are four levels.

  • Level 1:

The player must shimmy to vine swinging differently to the left of Liane. The jump distance is limited; he must wait and be careful not to jump next. In addition, rock on some lianas monkeys crash the player when touched.

  • Level 2:

Here the player has to swim across a river. Crocodiles he can dodge or kill them with a knife. Diving depth can be varied by prolonged immersion time has to surface. In addition, there are air bubbles, which make it an abortion.

  • Level 3:

Small and large boulders falling from a hill. The hero has to run to the left and either jump or crouch.

  • Level 4:

In between are the cannibals who try to hit the hero with spears, they move vertically upwards. Finding the right time is quite difficult. If successful, the game with increased difficulty starts again from the beginning.

Differences to Jungle King

The character of Jungle King Tarzan similar. At the beginning of the game, there was also a Tarzan yell. In Jungle Hunt the character wearing a pith helmet and a jacket. In addition, there are ropes instead of vines.

Because of a lawsuit filed by Universal critical points are changing rapidly and the game under a different name reissued.
