Juxkopf

The Juxkopfturm is an observation tower in the natural area Swabian- Franconian Forest. He stands on the Juxkopf above the mirror Berger district Jux. This 533 meter high Jurassic - dome is the second highest peak of the Löwenstein mountains.

The tower is the third building at this point: The first predecessor was established in 1882, but was demolished in 1902 due to disrepair and replaced by a new tower. Today, 22 -meter-high building was erected in 1932 in a closed timber construction on a concrete foundation. The platform offers one of the most rewarding prospects in the Swabian-Franconian Forest mountains and extends to the valleys of the Neckar river and is Jagst. 1936 next to the Juxkopfturm the spartan youth hostel Juxkopfhütte was built with 20 beds.

The tower was until 2008 administered by the local group Besigheim the Swabian Alp Association, since he is in the care of the local group Juxkopf.
