Kai Kovaljeff

Kai Kristian Kovaljeff ( born August 8, 1985 in Tampere ) is a Finnish Nordic combined and ski jumping.

Kai Kovaljeff lives in Kuopio and starts for Lieksan Hiihtoseura. The student first started out as a Nordic skier. He played his first international race in 2001 in Vuokatti within the B World Cup. In a contest by the Gundersen method he came on the 64th Place. It was then a little over two years until his next assignment. There he started to the end of the season 2004/05. Best result was a 28th place in a sprint in Vuokatti 2005. 2004 Kovaljeff occurred in Stryn first time at a World Junior Championship. The Finn was 34th of the Sprint race and came up with Ville Kähkönen, Janne Ryynänen and Anssi Koivuranta in the season in fourth place. A year later, he finished in Rovaniemi, in Gundersen competition 31

After 2005 moved to Kovaljeff special jumping. Since 2007, he initially joined in unterklassigen FIS Continental Cup and Grand Prix. He soon reached the Continental Cup of Villach in sixth place on the normal hill a first top ten result. These results were, however, initially the exception. Only in the 2008/ 09 season, the Finn could stabilize its services. In Zakopane Kovaljeff was first used in January in the ski jumping World Cup, was 21 and won for the first time World Cup points. On January 31 In 2009, with 16th place in Sapporo his best ever World Cup result.
