Kaidō Yasuhiro

Kaidō Yasuhiro (Japanese魁 道 康弘; born October 24, 1975 in Tokyo as Yasuhiro Tanaka (田中 康弘) ) is a former Japanese sumo wrestler.

Kaidō belonged to the stable Tomozuna - Beya and was professional since 1998, initially under his birth name. Prior to his career in professional sports, he was a successful high school athlete. In the makushita Division of him rise initially failed, although he was repeatedly at the top of the rankings. Knee injuries prevented his progress each time.

In May 2003, he managed to jump into the sekitori ranks. He changed his name to fight Kaito (魁 道), but was demoted again after a make- koshi. It was only in September that year, he appeared again on the Banzuke the juryo Division, now finally under the name Kaidō retaining notation. Until March 2005, he was consistently in this league and was able to rise up in their upper ranks.
